One of those days
Oct. 16th, 2012 10:34 pm*sigh* It started around 3am with a head ache not quite bad enough to be migraine, continued with a crashing PC, next the cat projectile vomited over the puppy who thought it was BRILLIANT and tried to roll in it and I smacked my head on the table as I mopped it all up, an then, just in case I hadn't got the idea, my laptop crashed as well, catastrophically and it won't boot at all - no OS apparently, but I suspect that the hard drive is screwed. Thank God for Drop box and the USB drives where I've saved the really important stuff! Fingers crossed I can retrieve the not as important but still good to have things.

Date: 2012-10-17 02:19 am (UTC)my day was not perfect either. Yesterday my father transferred money into my account. I checked the account balance online, and, having confirmed that the money was there, promptly went out to spend some of it.
Today the gremlins decided "haha, just kidding!" and the money was not in my account, but mysteriously back in his, and I was facing overdraft fees. I went through several phone trees to get a human being, who proceeded to tell me that he had no idea why it had happened and couldn't prove it had ever been in my account, though he believed me, so I emailed my dad who spent a great deal of frustrating time with the bank on HIS end, during which he discovered that a "confirmation number" for a transfer doesn't confirm anything at all, actually.
We'll get it sorted, and it's less frustrating than a nonfunctional computer, but clearly SOMETHING is not right with the universe. Hey universe? If I can trade places with my heroine I won't complain about giving up running water.
