*sigh* It started around 3am with a head ache not quite bad enough to be migraine, continued with a crashing PC, next the cat projectile vomited over the puppy who thought it was BRILLIANT and tried to roll in it and I smacked my head on the table as I mopped it all up, an then, just in case I hadn't got the idea, my laptop crashed as well, catastrophically and it won't boot at all - no OS apparently, but I suspect that the hard drive is screwed. Thank God for Drop box and the USB drives where I've saved the really important stuff! Fingers crossed I can retrieve the not as important but still good to have things.

Was this cat vomit day today and no one told us? It sounds like a full day for you either way. I'll keep my fingers crossed with you (and fret about my own backups).

Wait, I just reread your post - a PC and a laptop crashed??? Aaacccck. Hopefully the other headache is long gon, you've more than enough to cope with.

Headache gone, thank goodness and nobody has been sick so today has already been 10 times better than yesterday!

The PC is old - running Vista on 1Gb of RAM is not recommended - and it locked when I had more than one programme open at the same time. The laptop - oh dear, the poor thing is truly knackered. :( I knew it was going and bought a cheap replacement but it will be much missed.

The cat vomited on the puppy?! How come cats always find the *very worst* place to throw up?

Very worst? he'd been planning that for weeks, I bet.

how awful! I'm liking my habit of using convenient Google Docs even more.

my day was not perfect either. Yesterday my father transferred money into my account. I checked the account balance online, and, having confirmed that the money was there, promptly went out to spend some of it.

Today the gremlins decided "haha, just kidding!" and the money was not in my account, but mysteriously back in his, and I was facing overdraft fees. I went through several phone trees to get a human being, who proceeded to tell me that he had no idea why it had happened and couldn't prove it had ever been in my account, though he believed me, so I emailed my dad who spent a great deal of frustrating time with the bank on HIS end, during which he discovered that a "confirmation number" for a transfer doesn't confirm anything at all, actually.

We'll get it sorted, and it's less frustrating than a nonfunctional computer, but clearly SOMETHING is not right with the universe. Hey universe? If I can trade places with my heroine I won't complain about giving up running water.

Google Docs is the BIZ! I started using it in beta when it was called Writely back in 2005. God's gift to collaborative projects. I find Google Drive a bit clunkier than Dropbox but it's still far far better than having to remember t save to USBs or email files to yourself.

That bank business happened to me with sending money to my daughter. I hope it's all sorted out now. *hugs*

Cat vomit!!! Oh dear. Very messy stuff.

Hope you get the technical stuff sorted and Wilfred bathed. 😃

Wilf was ECSTATIC! Not just cat food but HOT cat food. He was in heaven - nasty boy.

*huggles* I think I'm looking at a new hard drive. Luckily I have a back up machine to work on, but it feels really clunky in comparison with my old one.

My two would be ecstatic if they could make the neighbour's cat vomit - but it just likes to sit on top of the shed and smirk at them. IGD nearly demolished the shed yesterday while persuading a squirrel to vacate the bird feeder - maybe that was part of a master plan to get the cat (or the squirrel).

Condolences on the sickly computers and thanks for the back-up reminder. I always forget how long ago I last did it.

*I am trying to get decent or amusing pics of IGD and Pest but so far I have blurs and retreating backsides.

Oh don't dogs have a wonderful knack of twitching just as you press the shutter so suddenly all you get is nose, or half their face goes out of shot or all there is is the picture is huggy furry masses of something. They are frustrating models.

I can sort of imaggine IGD demolishing a shed. they are big heavy boys who can build up a lot of speed. :)

Argh! Well, you are owed a day of doing all your favourite things tomorrow, just in compensation. Amen to that Dropbox comment. It's amazing how it manages to turn an unmitigated disaster into a survivable inconvenience.
