Nobody throws up with the enthusiasm of a dog. :( Yesterday I was worried sick about him - he was so sick and so subdued. "Quiet Wilf" is an oxymoron and yesterday he just lay down looking sad. This morning he seemed much happier and we had a good play in he garden before I went to work but apparently he started being sick again around lunchtime. When I got home from work he didn't even get out of his bed - just gave a tiny wag of the tail then put his head on his paws and went back to sleep.

I know he's probably just eaten something that disagreed with him - dogs are such dreadful dustbins - but it's a bit too like how Sirius was before he died for me to be brave about it. :(

He's bouncing like a- well like a ferret! Paul said he brought up something quite disgusting after I had gone to work and after that returned to his usual cheery self. He's escaped the vet this time but we're going to watch him and try to stop him eating rubbish. Dogs are dreadful! :) *hugs*

Yay! And yes, dogs are disgusting. This evening we took Jeannie for a walkin the park, where there is a small lake-- with DUCKS!! She really wanted a duck, and I let her off lead to try and catch one. Of course they just laughed at her, and she came home soaked, so tired she just ate half her supper and has been asleep ever since.

Ducks DO laugh. There's something very sneering about the quacking as the paddle to the other side of the pond. Did Jeannie dry herself on the sofa? That's Wilf's favourite place.

Yes, I'd take him to the vet hun just to put your mind at rest. As you say...it's most probably something he's eaten but always best to be sure. I really hope he gets better because I know exactly how you must feel about it. ((Hugs)) and lots of pats and strokes for Wilf. 😊

*hugs* the rat bag had been eating poo! No wonder he was sick. Naturally, he's fine today.

Dogs (and other pets) are worse than children when they're sick. At least with small children you are pretty sure where they've been, what they've eaten and if there are any bugs floating round their friends. And there's always the chance that they'll tell you what hurts!

Hope he picks up soon and it's just some tasty morsel that was best left where it was.

I get very paranoid when either of my two starts throwing up because we have a local mystery virus (probably) that has killed several dogs. Vets can't identify what it is or where it comes from, but healthy dogs go for a run in the forest then start throwing up and die. My two like grazing to make themselves sick which doesn't help my panic attacks. You're a long way from East Anglia so Wilf shouldn't have got our mystery bug!

Oh no mystery viruses are horrible. Wilf's problem, we think, is that he had been eating cat poo! The rat bag.

I haven't heard about mystery viruses her, but in early January some horror scattered sausages studded with nails on the dog walking path. As far as we know no dogs were affected, but I think the person who did it would get a rough ride if local dog owners found out who it was.

I tend to panic very quickly with ours, but you mind find a visit to the vets will at least put your mind at rest.

Thanks :D the silly pup is better now. Like all dogs he is a dustbin and had been forging around the garden for revolting things including cat poo!

As you were first explaining it seemed very similar to Sirius' actions. Is it possible there is someone intentionally trying to poison some varmint and the dogs are getting into the bait? Or is there some industrial runoff that might be doing it?

I'd get him to the Vet post haste. No more waiting.

It was cat poo! And the lassitude was due to having tired himself out with puking. that pooch will be the death of me.

Yes, call in the professional. That's a long time for a dog to not be his usual self.

He's all sorted out, thanks, and back to being his usual loving, annoying self. :)
