You know that bar along the bottom of your computer screen? The one with the start button at one end and the clock at the other?

Well, mine has gone. Any idea how I get it back?

Also - new story:


"Set In Stone" is my very short piece at the end of this terrific anthology containing stories by Tristram La Roche, Renee George, Dianne Hartsock and Kiran Hunter. I don't have a blurb but there's something there for every one with tales varying from mildy creepy to Oh Dear God, and with heat levels varying from a little sprinkle of cinnamon to vindaloo.

It's my first proper attempt at erotica too! Don't laugh.

Have you tried the cure-all: switch it off, swear at it while it can't hear you and then switch it on again? It happened to me a while ago and I can't remember exactly what I did to get it back there is somewhere that lets you choose to see the bar or not and where it will appear - try a right click mid-screen and see if there is anything useful looking in that menu. The other thing to check is your screen's settings in case the picture has decided to get larger than the screen and the bar is still there but fallen off the bottom. Good luck!

That little bar sounds like a Windows interface, as my bar is at the top of the screen and has an apple at the left and a clock at the right. Therefore, your guess is as good as mine, though I also favor turning it off and swearing at it.

Thanks for the advice - turned it off, swore a lot and left it overnight, just to be sure. The bar is back this morning but for how long I don't know. Poor machine is on its last legs and odd things keep happening. Time to return to factory settings I think.

Right click on your desktop. Go to Taskbar settings, click on that and if auto-hide is checked, uncheck it if you want the taskbar to stay on all the time. There are some other personalization things too.

Honestly, darlin', there are days when I shouldn't be allowed out without a keeper, let alone being left in charge of a laptop.

:) All the stories penned by Brits - 3 out of 5 - are in Halloween Heat 1. I think they put us together deliberately.
