Celebration
Jul. 4th, 2012 11:15 amHappy 4th of July to those of you who celebrate it. I'll be just over here drinking my deteftable tea.
The rest of the post is also a celebration and is going behind a cut because it's going to be picture heavy and not everyone's browser can cope with that - I know mine can't. Two weeks ago today I lost one of my very best friends. I've whined to a few people about it but today I've decided it would be cool to think about his fabulousness instead of being so miserable.

8 weeks old and utterly bemused at Hay Literary Festival

Being very good!

Favourite sleeping position

Second favourite sleeping position on pile of clean warm washing.

Mmm snowball.

God-Emperor and devoted worshipper on beach. I can't remember which got wetter.

Funny how a 4 pound cat can utterly crush a 60 pound dog.

Sizz watching HIS cat eat his dinner. They adored each other and used to take it in turns to chase.

Biiiig smile.

Dawn, New Years Day on top of Pen Y Fal, aka Sugarloaf. Looking a bit grey round the muzzle but still good to go.
Unfortunately we're not a family that takes much in the way of photos so we have no record of Sizz's complete devotion to his stuffed toy duck, or his fascinated horror of the squeaky toy pig we bought him at Christmas [he wouldn't pick it up in his mouth but poked it with his paws instead] or the disdain with which he greeted any suggestion that it might be cool if he could, like actually give something back once he'd retrieved it. Nor do we have any video of his ecstatic jumpings when a visitor arrived or the lazy little tail wag he gave when pleased to see but just too busy sleeping to be demonstrative. But we've got lots of fantastic memories.

Sirius Davis, aka One Track Tuscany, aka Sizz, April 20th 2005 - June 20th 2012, it was a privilege to know you.

Date: 2012-07-04 05:22 pm (UTC)Have a brilliant time on holiday. Don't look at it as a time of deprivation and isolation, try and view it as a time to recharge your creative batteries and get some new ideas. *hugs*

Date: 2012-07-05 12:53 am (UTC)I just don't know what I will do when it is Sarah's time. She is small and no more than about six or seven. We have just recently celebrated four years with her, and the shelter figured she was 2-3. I hope that as long as we keep her away from cars and heartworm, that we have a long time.
I love you Sal and wish only hugs and love to you know.
And one last comment, if I gave the impression I am not looking forward to my two weeks without internet access, please forgive.
I CAN'T WAIT! Yes, I love having google at my figertips and there will be times when I WANT info....but being in the woods with between 50 and 150 gay men (at the height of festival we reach 150) is a powerful and spiritual experiance!
