Might be a bit behind the times

But I think it's still worth mentioning that the Home Office are inviting all UK citizens to have their say on Marriage Equality - especially those LGBTQ people who will be most affected by it - the ones who either wish to marry or would like to change their civil partnership into a civil marriage.

But anyone can comment and apparently the people who support a complete ban, mobilised by right wing organisations and, in some cases, by churches, have been replying in droves.

http://www.homeoffice.gov.uk/publications/about-us/consultations/equal-civil-marriage/ It only takes five minutes to fill in the form. The consultation is open until June 14th.

Aha. Seems these people try more direct democracy before anybody founds a Pirate Party or installs an instance of Liquid Feedback on them, perhaps hoping to prevent those in Britain...

It's something they do quite often but they don't publicise it very well.

Oh. Well, it's something they ought to do more here.

They might do. Have you had a good poke around your governments websites? I only found this accidentally when looking at something else.

Well, I'll look. I only know the e-petition site where people may present petitions and collects signatures electronically.
