elingregory: 1920s couple dancing (11th hour)
[personal profile] elingregory
After shilly-shallying around and making a load of rough notes, I bit the bullet this morning and started my new story, Eleventh Hour. Because it's not that long 'til Nanowrimo starts I thought I'd get into practice and I've decided to post regular word counts to invite derision if I fail to keep up with it.

So here we go! Between finishing breakfast and leaving for work this morning:

Not a lot but a lot better than nothing.

There's not enough of it yet to post a snippet. Later in the week perhaps.

How goes it this morning? Hope you made your target (or close :)) *hugs* :)

If I've finished my current novel (possibly won't have!) I might go for Nano this November to write a novella I've got planned :)

1021 words :D. Now I need to do it again today.

I still need to finish last year's Nano. I have the end written on paper but it need to type it up. I have NO self discipline.

Good luck with finishing your novel.

Thanks. :D I'm having fun making lists of exciting little bits of history that my protagonists would know about - like that Johnny Weismuller was the sensation of that summer's Olympics! Doesn't have to go in the story but it's still good to have in the back of the mind.

It's one of the nanowrimo resources.

[img src="http://picometer.writertopia.com/words=342"] substituting < for [ and your word count figure.

:D I hope you have fun with it.

Good luck with it!

I've never really got into Nanowrimo... and it won't happen this year due to moving... Although I could do with something to give me a kick up the arse to start working on some of my stories ;)

Nano certainly applies the boot to the seat of the pants! The other thing that I find useful is www.writeordie.com which makes you keep typing, even if slowly, for as long as you have said you will type or until you reach the stated word count.

Also having readers saying "come on, i want the next instalment" is brilliant, but they are very hard to come by.
