Date: 2011-06-23 07:53 pm (UTC)However, in a more serious vein, as some artists used male models even when depicting a female (I think it is well-documented for Michelangelo's sibyls in the Sistine Chapel), Phidias (if this is a copy of the Lemnian Athena and not a misattribution) may have done the same.
