Last week I saw a picture that I enjoyed so much I had to draw my own. I don't often get the urge to draw these days. It's so much easier to describe with words than fiddle around with pencils. But yesterday I bashed out a sketch at lunch time.

Here is the inspiration - "Pan with Bats" by Allen Todd Yeager - an image of such joy and innocence that it made me choke up a bit. [It's safe to click - the link takes you to the artist's own website. Just be prepared for some NSFW images if you have a browse there].

And here's mine -  Enter your cut contents here.

"Faun, unaware of how cold the water is". Oh that was such fun to draw. I'll tart it up a bit next week.

:) thanks

No I haven't. I'll have a look for it. Thanks for the recc.

Years ago I started writing my own faun story - about a parish clerk called Gilbert Wainscot who has an accident and grows cute little horns and a tail - but in those days I never finished anything I started. i ought to look it out again. I loved Gilbert.

Excellent - lovely to see you drawing again. Um...inspired by a little chap called Wilf perhaps?

Noooo :( I had a story part written about a minor local government official called Gilbert Wainscot who had an accident and as he recovered grew dinky little horns, a tail and inconvenient amounts of body hair but [livejournal.com profile] changeling72 has pointed out that a novel came out this month with a faun with almost the same name in it. :( I could still write it but he wouldn't be able to be Gilbert and Gilbert really suited him.

Still I'm glad you like fuzzy-butt up there. :)

He is totally totally totally lovely! When you've 'tarted him up', as you say, might I have a high-res scan so I can print him and put him up on my wall where your other art is?

Of course, I'll get some copies and fiddle and see which looks best. Thanks for asking.

I mean your faun, of course, not the other one you were inspired by!

Wonderful!

He bears an uncanny likeness to a work colleague, who is very much a puckish unpredictable kind of character. It's quite surreal!
