I just hit 'send' for new submission.

It's gone. I can't fiddle with it any more. It's too late. The worst that can happen is that I get a "LOL - no" email in a couple of months.

Actually it feels quite good. Now for another project. I think I ought to finish A Fierce Reaping.

Congratulations! Sometimes it's one of the hardest things to do hitting that button. My after-button ritual is setting up the submission letter for the next publisher - haven't had to use it yet!

If I don't submit it I'll just spend years fiddling with it, like I did with the vampire novel and the werewolf one, or the strapping young farmhand/burned out Cold War warrior one and the one about the rock guitarist and the diabetic bookshop owner. :) When I retire maybe I'll finish them too?

Actually I feel BETTER once it's gone. Until I've bitten the bullet and sent it I fiddle and fret and poke the damn thing and wonder if it would be better set in space or recast so everyone is a mouseshifter! But once that email has been sent there's nothing I can do. The worst that can happen is that they don't like it. Weird, huh?

Just done the same thing a couple of days ago. I now jump a foot in the air when my phone chimes for an email coming in. I have to either chill out or become a nervous wreck.

Never gets easier.
