Yeah I know, not so happy for Gaius Julius Caesar but at least it means we get to see the below at least once a year:

If ONLY he'd listened to the soothsayer.

Or his father-in-law Charles Hawtry. Siily old Sage but he knows his onions. :D Brilliant film. Love the CarryOns.

I love the early Carry Ons like Carry On Cabbie, Carry On Seargent, and especially Carry On Jack. Later they got a lot less clever. But this one is just a joy - Hengist Pod the square wheel maker! And Horsa the Hunter "What do you hunt?" "Romans!"

I knew it was going to be that! Best Carry On set/costumes ever, of course - straight from the Burton/Taylor film!

It's my second favourite. My favourite is Carry On Jack with Bernard Cribbins and Juliet Mills making a mockery of every Age of Sail film ever made. :) That has good set/costumes too. Likewise Carry On Up The Khyber. Happy Days.

I like a lot of the early films - Jack, Nurse and particularly Sergeant, in which Kenny Connor is magnificent.

It's from a film called Carry On Cleo. In the 50s, 60s and 70s there was a series of films called "Carry On" films that made fun of the British, our history, cliche situations etc. The early ones were absolutely brilliant - excellent scripts, plots, dialogue, and very nicely presented with good sets and costumes. They used to piggyback on other films, so the one in the video used the costumes and sets of the Richard Burton/Elizabeth Taylor version of Cleopatra. I can't see much point in looking them up. The humour is so British that it doesn't travel well. For instance Julius Caesar saying "Infamy, infamy! They've all got it in for me" makes me giggle like crazy. It's all in how you say it.
