Bonfire Night
Nov. 5th, 2012 05:31 pmWe're battening down the hatches ready for the UK equivalent of Halloween. Th fire is built up, the cats are both shut in, so is the puppy and we are bracing ourselves for the first of the bangs.
Just 50 yards away, as the crows fly, there is a little park and it's there that the town's big firework display takes place. I'm not at all keen on bangs so I tend to avoid it, though I admit that the lights are very pretty. Both cats take it in their stride but each year Sirius became more and more distressed. I'm hoping that Wilfred won't find the evening too scary.
Meantime the cats are amusing themselves by getting Wilf into trouble. He has just trotted into the room with an apple pie in his mouth courtesy of the black cat, who pushed it off the kitchen counter then sat grinning as we chased Wilf to take it away from him.
