Dr Wicked does it again!

www.writeordie.com is one of my favourite writing tools. I can bash out 600 words in 20 minutes using that! Great for lunchtimes or first thing in the morning before work. But typing fast means mistakes [at least it does for me] so the lovely doctor has come up with a new application.

www.editminion.com is as easy to use as writeordie. It's in beta but seems pretty good. Just paste a block of text into the box, hit 'Edit' and it will magically illuminate all the adverbs, weak words, prepositions ending sentences, alternatives to 'said', passive voice, and cliches. It also makes a list of all the words that are used frequently plus how many times you used them. It'll never be better than a beta reader - who will slap you around gently for your misdemeanours - but it's a useful thing to use before you send the chapter off to be looked at. Not sure how many words it would take in one go but it does 600 happily enough.
