Last night, while stirring the wok with more enthusiasm than finesse, I managed to splash the dog with black bean sauce. He quite liked it and spent the evening grooming himself but couldn't do the top of his head. He has quite a faux-hawk today. It really suits him.

Here's Audi cashing in on this summer's block busters - Star Trek and Iron Man.

And here's a picture of the machine gun I was fiddling with at lunchtime to see how easy it would be too shoot out of a car window. It's a Great War Bermann MP18 and how it got in Mr XXXX's garden shed nobody knows, but it was in full working order when it was handed in. It's SO heavy. I can't pick it up with one hand which leads me to believe that I may be distressingly girly.

I've taken the advice of [livejournal.com profile] charliecochrane to make it longer (and I'm giving it more oomph while trying to keep the angst levels realistic - melodrama can be fun in the right context but it's wrong for some characters) and that of [livejournal.com profile] erastes to track down and burn those pesky filler words and cut way back on the "that"s.

I'm constantly astonished at how kind and supportive this bit of the m/m writing community is. Thanks, guys. It means a lot.

That's because I finished the edits to Alike As Two Bees and pestered two very kind people who had agreed to look it over for me. The result overall seems to be 'needs a bit of work' but was positive enough to keep me smiling and motivated. You'd think at my age I'd be more robust, wouldn't you?

Anyhow, now I'm cutting the 'that's, 'then's and 'there was'es and adding some bits to clarify what's going on. And then I'll get it betaed and then edit again and then think about where to put it. Fun stuff.

Meantime here's a bit of pirates. I wrote it back in January and had completely forgotten about it:
